A passener in a taxi tapped the driver on the shoulder to ask him something. The driver screamed, lost control of the cab, nearly hit a bus.
For a few moments everything was silent in the cab, then the driver said, “please don’t ever do that again. You scared the daylights out of me.” The passenger, who was also frightened, apologized and said he didn’t realize that a tap on the shoulder could frighten him so much. To which the driver replied, “I’m sorry, it’s not really your fault at all. Today is my first day driving a cab. I have been driving a hearse for the last 25 years.”
택시 승객이 뭔가를 물어보기 위해 운전사 어깨를 두드리자 운전사는 갑자기 소리를 지르며 중심을 잃더니 버스와 충돌 일보직전까지 갔다.
잠시 침묵이 흐른 뒤 운전사가 말했다. “제발 다시는 그러지 마세요. 너무 놀라 간담이 다 서늘했습니다.” 놀라긴 역시 마찬가지였던 승객이 사과를 하며 “어깨를 두드리는 것에 그렇게 놀랄 줄 미처 몰랐다”고 말했다. 이에 운전자 왈, “사실, 당신 잘못이 아니랍니다. 오늘 택시 운전 첫날인데, 저는 지난 25년 동안 장의사 차만 몰았거든요.”
